The trek starts with moderate walks following the main scenic and interesting trail from one lovely village to another. As well as a perfect altitude for an extra day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and to explore its scenic viewpoints. From Namche Bazaar the true adventure begins as the walk follows a higher elevation at the famous Tengboche. A beautiful location with a majestic
monastery, amidst forest surroundings encircled by the snow peaks. The adventure continues heading to higher ground to enter sheer mountain wilderness, reaching the scenic Imja Tse Valley. Where the lovely settlement of Dingboche and Chukung is located en route to the Island Peak base camp. After spending time at Dingboche and Chukung, the great adventure begins heading at the base of Island Peak. After a good preparation getting well acclimatized, enjoy the exciting climb to the top of Island Peak. Island Peak is one of the most popular trekking peaks in all Himalayan regions, due to its approachability. Located close to the main trail to Everest base camp and various adventure destinations. It is a tough mountain with a straightforward route to the summit, but with few technical sections to negotiate. Climbing on rocks, snow ice ledge, and slopes to reach the summit, but for every hard effort. On arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal International Airport, received by team
of staff and guide. Synchronize the NST (Nepal Standard Time) which is 5 hours
and 45 minutes ahead of GMT. A short drive takes you to the hub of Kathmandu city around Thamel area to your hotels. Have time to get refreshed in your nice rooms, after the long flight. Morning with early breakfast, the guide, and staff transfers you to Kathmandu domestic airport. After checking in with the airlines, get on board a small aircraft, Twin Otter, Dornier, or similar STOL aircraft. This airplane can fly and land around the short runways. During the flight enjoy the panorama of the Himalayan range of peaks with Mt. Everest towards North-East. The plane makes landing at Lukla’s short
runways towards the parking area at Tenzing and Hillary Airport.

After getting organized with the baggage, with time for a refreshing break. Then follow the guide through the streets of Lukla town lined with shops, stores, and restaurants. An enjoyable walk downhill for a short while with views of farm villages, as the walk leads through several nice villages. The morning after breakfast, follow the guide with a pleasant start on gradual ups and downs to cross a long bridge. Leaving the Dudh Koshi River, a short climb to Monjo village to enter the Sagarmatha National Park. A name for Everest in Nepal, the Sherpa calls Chomolungma of Tibetan origin language.

The National Park is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From the park cross over a bridge to Jorsalle the last settlement before Namche Bazaar, possible stop for lunch. Afternoon walk on the river bed amidst dense forest of oaks, pines, and rhododendron trees. Then a short climb to cross a high bridge, the walk follows a long undulating uphill trail for a few hours. Slowly the day ends on reaching Namche Bazaar, it is the size of a moderate town with colorful, well-built houses that serve as lodges, and hotels. At Namche rest day for acclimatization, before heading towards Island Peak and other destinations. Possible short acclimatization hike climbs to a high ridge close to the museum. The other interesting hike is climbing above Namche Bazaar to a small old airstrip at Syangboche. Then on slow gradual ups to Everest View Hotel, the first luxury hotel of Khumbu and Everest region. Designated in the Guinness Book of World Record, as the highest hotel in the world at 3,962 m/ 13,000 feet. Located in a serene surrounding amidst pines and rhododendrons small forest. Enjoy the glorious views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse with Ama Dablam while having refreshing hot drinks.  After a morning hike downhill to Namche Bazaar for lunch. Rest of the day at leisure browsing the street of the interesting Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is also famous for its weekly Saturday Market, hence the name tagged as Namche Bazaar due to the colorful busy bazaar/ market held every Saturday.

Enjoying a pleasant stop at Namche Bazaar, the adventure continues with pleasant walks on a gradual trail. Along the walk, superb views of towering snow peaks, then down to Imjatse River at Phunki Tenga. A small place and quite popular for lunch stops. Before the climb to Tengboche, after lunch a steady uphill for a few hours through dense woods. Then, reach Tengboche, located in beautiful surroundings with snowy mountain ranges amidst a lovely forest with a majestic monastery. After checking into a nice room and having time in the afternoon refreshment, visit the monastery enriched with ancient artifacts. As well as colorful decorations of vivid religious art and paintings inside the monastery interiors. Tengboche Monastery is famous for a religious festival called Mani Rimdu. The event is celebrated for three days during the late October or first week of November, as per the Buddhist Lunar calendar.

Please note: Sometimes the guide might take you further down to Deboche for an overnight
stop. After the tour of the monastery, to another serene environment with good

Island Peak towers at 6,165m/20,226 feet high, above Imjatse Valley, the peaks also called Imjatse Himal. Start the adventure early morning before dawn, climb leads across a moraine of rocks and glaciers. As the climb progresses towards an open gully, in between well-defined ridges. The climb leads to a small hanging glacier at 5, 280 m high, with a wide open gully. Avoiding serac and crevasses climbing northwards over snow-covered scree in the margin between glaciers facing a top ridge. The climb continues crossing a gully with some stone and icefall dangers, a steep snow and ice ramp takes you above 100 meters (300 feet) to the main summit. Finally reach the top, after a short rest to catch your breath, then enjoy the views of Mt. Everest. Includes Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Mt. Makalu with Chamlang and Baruntse Himal. After a great climb feeling in high spirits descend on the same route to base camp. Have a refreshing hot meal, then walk back to Chukung in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge.

After overnight at Chukung, morning walks follows above Imjatse Valley with a short climb to a ridge. Where the trail from Dingboche joins, the top adorned with Buddhist prayer monuments. From here a pleasant walk with slow winding ups to Thugla. A small place with Tea-House another popular refreshing stop for lunch en route Lobuche. to reach Dzongla in a day. The trail follows east, on a gradual winding path, after some hours of steady walks, then reaching Everest Base Camp. Start the morning by having an early breakfast, and follow the guide on the
winding path for a short while. Reaching the base of Cho-La pass, the climb begins for a few hours, taking care of slippery icy sections. Spring and autumn/ fall are the best seasons for Island Peak, and adventure around high Khumbu with Everest Base Camp. The spring begins in March and ends in May, a lively time for this adventure and scenic views. Most days are fine and clear with enough sunshine hours till late afternoon from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. It can get overcast in the afternoon sometimes, with chances of snowfall. Days are much longer with sunlight hours, but cold mornings and late afternoons till nighttime. It depends upon the altitude and overnight stops around the high Khumbu/ Everest regions.

Spring is the best time for nature lovers when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendrons of various species. The next best season is autumn/fall when days are bright with sunshine for clear views. Autumn/fall starts from September to November, one of the high seasons in Nepal for trekking. Days are fine with crystal clear blue sky, and gets dark soon due to limited sunshine hours.  Morning and late afternoon until the night is cold, and chances of light snowfall are above 3,000 m.Adventurous trekkers and climbers can dare this trek and climb during winter times despite the freezing temperatures. However, most days in winter with crystal clear blue skies but with short sunshine hours. Morning, late afternoon, and nights will be freezing cold, late sunrise and sunset early by 5:30 p.m.

Depending upon the itinerary chosen the shortest way to Island Peak, or visiting Everest base camp, before the climb. Normally it takes 3-4 days from the base camp to the summit. Includes rest day and preparation for the climb with acclimatization days. Walk from Lukla to Island Peak with a climb takes 11 to 12 days, not counting the return walk back to Lukla. Overall total of 14 to 15 days from Lukla to Lukla.

Island Peak or Imjatse Himal at 6,165m/20,226 feet, the climbing grade is PD + means Per Difficult with plus, a French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification Systems.
