Mera Peak Climbing with Loong Adventures takes you to the top at 6,470 m/21,227.03 feet high. It is one of the highest trekking peaks in the Nepal Himalayas, and a straightforward climb with fewer technical difficulties.

Mera Peak Climbing is a perfect mountain for all interested trekkers and climbers to recharge their souls and with high spirits.

The adventure to Mera Peak leads to nature’s masterpiece, where one can enjoy the exciting thrills of a lifetime experience.

An exciting adventure on a hidden highland around eastern Khumbu and south of Mt. Everest. The trekking routes for the climbs take you to less frequented areas than other major and popular trails of Everest. Making this journey enjoyable, where the snow peaks offer unique charms for trekkers, is an ultimate adventure. Capture the essence of natural wonders, the Mera Peak summit offers a peaceful serenity. An adventure in a world of your own, away from the maddening crowd of the HIFI world. As you can feel the fresh, clean air within the essence of natural surroundings and beautiful, unique landscapes.

The journey to Mera Peak involves a short, scenic flight from Kathmandu or Ramechap airport to land at Lukla, Tenzing & Hillary Airport.

From Lukla, the adventure begins heading northeast away from the busy trail, towns, and villages. As the climb leads towards complete mountain wilderness, reaching the heart of Hinku Valley, where Mera Peak stands majestically.

MERA PEAK CLIMBING ROUTE:
Leaving Lukla town, the route climbs over Naulekh Ridge and Zatwar-La Pass to reach Hinko Hidden Valley. The walk progresses with overnights at Chutanga,Thuli Kharka to Thagnak and then towards Khare.

The base for the Mera Peak climb, with fewer simple lodges, offers a rest day to support acclimatization. As well as practice exercises for the final bid to the Mera Peak summit. From Khare towards Advance or High Camp, setting the highest overnight camp of the adventure. The climb begins before dawn and then heads over snowy slopes, avoiding deep crevices, and finally to the top of Mera Peak. After 4-5 hours of steep walks and climbs over deep snow slopes. Although Mera Peak offers fewer technical difficulties, we have graded it from F to PD. It means Facial Easy with some Difficulty, due to the rapid gain of altitude and taking precautions from deep crevices. All climbers will be on fixed ropes, with ice axes and in good spirits.

Mera Peak is considered less challenging technically than other trekking peaks in the Himalayas. But all climbers require good equipment to overcome the deep snow and strong, cold wind with blizzards. Beginners should have some basic training to experience the Mera Peak climb. From the summit, after a good rest, allow your mind and body to relax. Enjoy the superb panorama of the Middle Eastern Himalaya range with Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and Mt. Cho-Oyu. As far as Baruntse Himal, with Makalu and Mt. Kanchenjunga. After a blissful and exciting moment, descend safely on the same route back to Khare, the base camp.

The climb to Mera Peak summit, compared to other Nepal trekking peaks, is relatively easy. A few years back, the grade of the climbing route was just ‘F’ “Facial Easy”, a straightforward peak to climb. It is a long climb over snowy slopes to the summit.

In the last few years, with slight changes to the route of the climb, due to movements of glaciers. Few avalanches have created deep crevices, making it slightly technical. Before the grade of the Mera Peak climb was just ‘F’ means Facial Easy. At present, the grade is PD (‘Per Difficult’), which means climbing over ice, glaciers, and deep snow. However, the climb is straightforward; it requires climbers to be equipped with a good ice axe, crampons, and other necessary tools. The difficult level is climbing above 4,500 m to 5,000 meters high, and within thin air. Facing extreme tiredness due to altitude gains, climbing to the
top at 6,470 m/21,227.03 feet. It is one of the highest trekking peaks in the Nepal Himalayas.

For these symptoms, the patient needs immediate evacuation by the fastest means of transportation. The safe and quick procedure is to carry the patient to a lower altitude.

Severe conditions require emergency support using a Helicopter Service to bring the patient to Kathmandu to the best hospitals.

On treks and before the climb, the itinerary is designed with rest days at a
certain altitude. For better acclimatization, climb high and rest or sleep
lower to acclimate.

Mera Peak is located in the remote and isolated region of Khumbu and southeast of Everest. From Lukla onwards, the lodges are simple and basic, with a limited food menu. Due to its remoteness, fewer trekkers and climbers seldom venture into the hidden valley of Hinku. As the climb to Mera Peak has become increasingly popular over the last decades, the lodge and food have improved.
