The Spiritual Significance of Mt. Kailash
Mt. Kailash, located at an elevation of 6,638 meters (21,778 feet), is revered as the holiest mountain in the world by millions of Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and followers of the Bon religion. For Hindus, it is the abode of Lord Shiva; for Buddhists, it is Kang Rinpoche, the “Precious Snow Mountain”; for Jains, it is Asta Pada, where their first tirthankara attained nirvana.
The Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation) is a sacred ritual that attracts pilgrims from all corners of the globe. Mount Kailash is not just a peak but the spiritual center of the universe, believed to be the source of the Karnali, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, Yarlung Tsangpo, and Indus rivers, which flow into the Ganges—making it a deeply symbolic journey for spiritual seekers.

Overall, Loong Adventures ensures the best available accommodation and hygienic meals throughout the journey for a safe and comfortable experience.
Tibet, with a total population of around 6 million, is home to a deeply spiritual society shaped by centuries of devotion and tradition. Approximately 91% of Tibetans follow Tibetan Buddhism, while about 8–10% practice the ancient Bon religion, which predates Buddhism and is still observed in regions like Dolpo and Mustang across the Nepal border.
The main Tibetan ethnic groups — Kham, Amdo, and the Drokpa nomads — share a strong bond with Buddhist philosophy and monastic life. Throughout Tibet, monasteries, stupas, and prayer flags symbolize faith, compassion, and harmony with nature.
Small communities of Muslims and Han Chinese settlers also reside in Tibet, particularly in trade centers influenced by the old Silk Route. Despite modernization, Tibetan culture continues to thrive, guided by Buddhist principles of peace, respect, and spiritual balance.
All travelers are required to purchase Travel and Medical Insurance from their home countries. It makes it easier for you to claim some reimbursement if needed. This is a high-altitude journey that takes you to a minimum of 3,000 meters amidst barren and windswept country.
